Creative Color Steps

Prepare the hair

Hue & Me can be applied to damp or dry hair. For vivid tones, pre-lightened blonde hair gives the most intense result. On natural hair, tones appear softer.

Select and mix shades

Hue & Me shades are fully intermixable. Blend directly in the tube or in a bowl. No developer needed for direct application.

Apply generously

Apply with a brush or gloved hands from root to tip. Ensure every strand is fully saturated for even color deposit.

Process 20–35 min

Leave undisturbed. For more intense deposit, cover with a processing cap and use gentle heat (10 min less time).

Rinse cool, no shampoo

Rinse with cool water only — do not shampoo after. The cool rinse seals the cuticle and locks in pigment. Style as normal.

ℹ️ Mixing formula: 2 parts vibrant shade + 1 part Clear for a softer, more wearable version. Always test on a strand first when mixing custom tones.

On-Scalp

Scalp Application

Charcolite Application

Mix 1:2

Combine 30g Charcolite powder with 60ml developer in a non-metallic bowl. Mix to a smooth, even paste with no lumps.

Apply immediately

Charcolite activates quickly. Apply to prepared sections within 5 minutes of mixing for consistent performance.

Wrap securely (foil)

For foil techniques, wrap tightly to prevent bleed. For balayage, apply with a brush and allow to air-process.

Check at 20 minutes

Check a test strand at 20 minutes. Charcolite develops progressively — check every 5–10 minutes after that to achieve the desired lift level.

Rinse, tone & finish

Rinse thoroughly. Apply Hue & Me toning shade if needed for brassiness control. Condition and style.

⚠️ Do not exceed 50 minutes total processing time. The bond-caring complex in Charcolite protects during lightening, but prolonged processing time always increases breakage risk — monitor closely.
