Shampoo & Conditioner Protocol

Wet hair thoroughly

Saturate with warm water to open the cuticle and maximise cleanse effectiveness. Warm water ensures full product penetration.

Apply shampoo & lather

Work into scalp with fingertips for 60–90 seconds. Sulphate-free formulas produce a gentler lather than conventional shampoos — this is normal and effective.

Rinse thoroughly

Rinse completely. A second shampoo pass is recommended for clients with heavy product build-up or first-time Colorproof users.

Apply conditioner mid-length to ends

Leave 2–3 minutes. Comb through with a wide-tooth comb. For Masque, process 5–10 minutes under a processing cap for deeper results.

Rinse cool & style

Cool water seals the cuticle and maximises colour retention. Follow with the appropriate Colorproof styler while hair is damp.

Masque & Treatment Steps

Use instead of conditioner

Apply Moisture Masque or Baobab Recovery Masque after shampooing as a substitute for conditioner — not both together.

Distribute & process

Comb through from mid-length to ends. Cover with processing cap and process 5 minutes at room temperature, or 10 minutes with gentle heat for intensive repair.

Rinse cool

Cool water seals the cuticle and maximises colour retention. Style as normal with the appropriate Colorproof collection styler.

Toning Application Steps

Pre-cleanse if needed

For clients with heavy product build-up, do a first wash with any Colorproof shampoo to remove residue before applying the Toning Shampoo.

Apply & start timer

Apply Toning Shampoo generously to wet hair. Lather and immediately start your timer. Process 2–10 minutes based on desired toning intensity.

Rinse thoroughly

Rinse completely with warm then cool water. The cool rinse seals the cuticle and locks in the toned result.

Follow with Toning Conditioner

Apply Toning Conditioner for 2–3 minutes to maintain tone, add moisture, and seal the cuticle for long-lasting results.
